My academic journey began at Kansas Wesleyan University, Salina, KS, where I pursued a Bachelor of Science degree with majors in Forensic Science and Biomedical Chemistry, and minors in Criminal Justice and Physics, graduating in 2010. I furthered my education at Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS, earning a Business Administration Graduate Certificate in 2014 and a Doctor of Philosophy in Physical Chemistry in 2015.
Upon completion of my Ph.D., I joined Stephen F. Austin State University’s Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry as an Assistant Professor on a tenure track from 2015 to 2021. My research areas during this period were focused on Computational Theoretical Physical Chemistry.
In 2021, I was promoted to Associate Professor of Chemistry, a position I currently hold. Concurrently, I served as the Co-Director of JacksTeach at the same university from 2021 to 2023.
Throughout my teaching career, I have taught a variety of chemistry courses, ranging from introductory to graduate level. I have also been actively involved in professional development, participating in workshops and faculty learning communities organized by the Center for Teaching and Learning. These experiences have shaped my teaching philosophy and approach, equipping me with the skills to effectively educate and inspire the next generation of scientists.
