Personal profile

I am currently serving as a Professor and Interim Chair at the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Stephen F. Austin State University, Texas, USA. I embarked on my academic journey with a B.Sc. in Biochemistry from Ogun State University, Nigeria, followed by an M.Sc. in Biochemistry from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. I then pursued a Ph.D. in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology from Rhodes University, South Africa.

Post my doctoral studies, I held postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, and the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, USA. I also had the opportunity to be a Guest Researcher at Rhodes University, South Africa, and UiT The Arctic University of Norway, Tromso, Norway.

My teaching career began as an Assistant Lecturer at Ogun State University, Nigeria, and I gradually moved up the ranks to my current position at Stephen F. Austin State University. I have also been honored with several awards and grants, including the Hugh Kelly Research Fellowship and the NSF Conference Grant.

My research contributions span across various fields of biochemistry and molecular biology, with numerous publications in reputed journals. I am also an invited speaker at international conferences, sharing my insights and findings with the global scientific community. My journey reflects my dedication to the field of biochemistry and my commitment to fostering knowledge and innovation.
