Research interests
Dr. Pat Stephens Williams earned a doctorate in English, a Master of Science in Forestry, a Master of Arts in English, and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Journalism from Southern Illinois University. Her teaching and research interests include recreation and human dimensions, communications, education, interpretive writing, interpretive planning, interpretive leadership, cultural and heritage interpretation, and advanced professional interpretation. Dr. Williams’ extensive college and university involvement includes serving as a liaison for the Center for Regional Heritage Research and as a member of the American Democracy Project – Yellowstone. She is a Fellow with the Society of American Foresters.
