Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

This case discusses the corporate social responsibility initiatives of Land O'Lakes, one of the world's largest agricultural cooperatives, with a focus on effective corporate partnerships aimed at helping people in the Base of the Pyramid (BoP). These partnerships benefit the cooperative, its employees, people in BoP countries like Ethiopia and Afghanistan, as well as supporting organizations like USAID, ENGINE, and VEGA. The case highlights Land O'Lakes' success in promoting self-sufficiency in BoP nations. The central scenario involves Caroline Tetrick, a Land O'Lakes Sales Representative, facing a significant opportunity in Ethiopia, guided by her supervisor Mark Reynolds. It explores the challenges and opportunities in corporate social responsibility and international projects.
