Resumen

The study determined the optical constants n(ν) and k(ν) for 1.0- and 0.5-M concentrations of sodium sulfate at ambient temperatures using Framers-Kronig phase-shift analysis of near-normal reflectances in the spectral region of 2 to 20 μm. It found total band strengths of 14.2 and 13.6 reciprocal centimeters/(mol/liter) for the 1.0- and 0.5-M concentrations, respectively, attributed to the ν//3 vibration of the SO//42 minus ion. Additionally, the study examined the changes in band position and intensity for this absorption.
